Dear Jen,

I wanted to make sure you saw this message as soon as possible.

Our generous friend, philanthropist and HRC Board Member Bruce Bastian, is challenging you to be the most effective advocate you can be in the fight for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender equal rights—and he has pledged to match your gift up to $100,000 for the next 48 hours.

So far hundreds of generous donors have chipped in towards our goal.

If you—and every other person who believes in equality—make a gift today, we will almost certainly reach our goal by May 31st.

As we move closer to LGBT equality in all 50 states—blocking bans of same-sex marriage, pushing the Employment Non Discrimination Act through to the U.S. House, and gaining momentum in the South through Project One America—our opposition will be in full force.

So Jen, if you're ready to say enough is enough to the challenges to full equality in communities across this country—now's your chance.

Make a gift today or become a Partner by making a monthly gift. Your first monthly gift will be doubled.

Sincerely,
Chad Griffin Signature

Dear Jen,

If you told me 13 years ago that I'd be an activist for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender rights, I'd have said you were crazy. But I know now that each of us can have an impact on the LGBT movement—we just have to start with one simple action.

Today, I challenge you to join me in the fight for LGBT equality. If you donate to the Human Rights Campaign within the next 72 hours, I will match your gift of any amount, up to $100,000.

For most of my adult life, I helped raise my family in the Mormon Church and ran a successful business—while keeping my sexual orientation a secret. I knew that if I ever came out, I would risk both excommunication and total isolation from everyone for whom I loved and cared about.

A lot of people think those dark days of discrimination against the LGBT community are over. I'm writing to tell you they're not.

Our biggest threat is complacency.

Join HRC with a gift and it will be doubled, or make a monthly commitment and your first gift will be doubled—for the next 72 hours.

While I was overjoyed to learn that a federal judge struck down the ban on same-sex marriage in my home state of Idaho, in the majority of states in this country, LGBT people still can't live openly and aren't free from discrimination or intolerance where they live.

That's why I am asking you to join me and HRC in support of LGBT equality now.

Please make a gift and I will double it up to $100,000 until May 31. I know we can raise these critical funds in the next 72 hours if each of us steps up and takes action.

Let's say "yes" to being true to ourselves, "yes" to unlocking our potential and "yes" to true equality for all. Take a stand with me today.

Thank you,

P.S. Here I am at 10 years old...when I lived in Twin Falls, Idaho. Looking back on then and where I am today, I've learned that dedicated people like you are the most important part of our efforts to change hearts and minds when it comes to LGBT equality. I hope you'll donate today so I can match your gift for double the impactor make a monthly gift and see your support go to work all year long. I'll even double your first month's gift!
