Tuesday 07/22/14
Winds may be light enough and incoming background levels high enough for ozone to reach "Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups" on the west and northwest side of the Dallas-Fort Worth area, "Moderate" or possibly higher levels on the east and northeast side of the Houston area and in the Tyler-Longview area, and "Moderate" levels in the El Paso area, with highest concentrations in the afternoon and early evening. Patchy areas of smoke aloft from Canadian fires that mixed to the ground yesterday over portions of the state and could possibly raise the daily PM2.5 AQI into the low end of the "Moderate" range in some areas again today. Elsewhere in the state, moderate winds and lower incoming background levels should help to keep air quality in the "Good" range.
