Nominate a Candidate for the Farm Service Agency Committee The Cabarrus-Mecklenburg Farm Service Agency is accepting nominations for the Farm Service Agency Committee. The nomination period continues through Aug. 1, 2014, with elections taking place this fall. The 2014 election for Cabarrus-Mecklenburg will be held in Local Administrative Area (LAA) 3. LAA 3 is the western area in Cabarrus County. To be eligible to serve on a Farm Service Agency committee, a person must participate or cooperate in a program administered by the Farm Service Agency, be eligible to vote in a committee election and reside in the local administrative area in which the person is a candidate. Producers may nominate themselves or others, and organizations representing minorities and women may also nominate candidates. To become a candidate, an eligible individual must sign the nomination form, FSA-669A. The form and other valuable information about Farm Service Agency committee elections are available online at: http://www.fsa.usda.gov/elections, by visiting the Farm Service Agency in Concord, or by calling and requesting a nominating petition. Nomination forms for the 2014 election must be postmarked or received in the Cabarrus-Mecklenburg Farm Service Agency by close of business on Aug. 1, 2014. Questions?
