Report Your Acreages to Remain Eligible for FSA Programs
The Farm Service Agency (FSA) has many programs that provide Kansas farmers and ranchers supplemental income to help with the many expenses of maintaining a crop or livestock operation. Renae Lucas, Acting County Executive Director of Bourbon County FSA, reminds producers the deadline to file an acreage report is fast approaching! Producers must report acreage to maintain eligibility for Price Support Programs, Noninsured Crop Assistance Program (NAP), Conservation Reserve Program (CRP), and Agriculture Risk Coverage (ARC) and Price Loss Coverage (PLC) Programs. July 15th, 2014, is the final date to certify spring seeded crops and CRP. NAP acreages must be certified by July 15th, 2014, or 15 days prior to the onset of harvest or grazing. FSA accepts applications anytime for Farm Storage Facility Loans, Continuous CRP, Rural Youth Loans, and Direct or Guaranteed Operation or Farm Ownership Loans.
